Children and Bedtime Fears and Nightmares.

The inspiration behind Stuffed Courage: The Halloween Child came to Jason Borrego after personally dealing with a child that was afraid of everything that went bump in the night. I wanted to give my child a hero, something to help him combat the night terrors and fears created in his own mind. Thus, a hero teddy bear by the name of Coro Stuffs was born. The teddy bear was teamed with a little boy afraid of the monsters under his bed, and the epic adventure to build courage over these fears took life.

The seven-part book series by author Jason Borrego revolves around a young boy and a magical teddy bear known in the realm as a Protector of Dreams. Brought together by fate, the two must conquer countless fears in an original, imaginative fantasy world.
There are all kinds of terrors that scare children. This book is about building a special courage to combat common childhood fears. This adventure will bring the most unlikely heroes together in a frightening time of peril.

Stuffed Courage Book One: The Halloween Child

Stuffed CourageAlexander Hitch was born on Halloween and has a strange connection to magic. He swears that something lives in his closet or maybe underneath his bed. The boy is misunderstood. No one believes him, and to make matters worse any and all talk of magic is banned—a law executed by his blockhead of a father. But the boy is special in more ways than even he suspects.

When Alex discovers a ragged teddy bear by chance, he hopes for a descent night sleep. But the monster that haunts him grows brave and attacks.  It threatens to devoured him and the town on his approaching eighth birthday, which happens to be Halloween.

The mysterious teddy bear comes to life and defends Alex, risking his own stitching. The two are linked by a special bond that neither understand. This is because the teddy bear has amnesia. The only way to survive the long night is for Alexander to help the teddy bear remember his purpose.
